This week's post is:
Perfect reads for Halloween (either spooky or seasonal)
1.
Dark Matter is my Halloween read for this year, so I've not actually managed to read it yet, but I am really looking forward to it! It sounds like the perfect spooky read!
2.
The Book of Fires by Jane Borodale is a fantastic Autumn read! I read it probably about a year and a half ago and the story has stayed with me ever since. You can read my review for it by clicking here.
3.
The Demon Lover (same novel as Incubus by Carol Goodman) is a wonderful read for Halloween, especially for those that are interested in folklore and fairy tales with a dark twist. A romantic novel that still has a spooky twist! Click here to read my review.
4.
Touch by Jus Accardo is one that I've mentioned many times on my blog already, I know, but I do honestly and wholeheartedly believe that this is a perfect novel for both Autumn and Halloween. Kale's deadly secret is one to keep you intrigued for a long time after you'd finished the novel! Click here to read my review of Touch, and click here to read my interview with author Jus Accardo.
5.
Interview with the Vampire is one I read for Halloween a couple of years ago, and although proper horror books are not usually my kind of thing, I did enjoy this one! It was a scary, spooky read, but it wasn't so terrifying that it kept me awake at night. Still a fantastic one for the spooky holiday though!
6.
The Rapture is the only novel that I can tell you has given me nightmares. The ending of the novel really affected me, and even now when I think about it, it makes me shudder. Natural disasters on the scale in the novel are things that really terrify me, and personally I think they are much scarier than any horror novel.
7.
The Gargoyle is a novel about an unnamed man who has his face burnt in a car accident right at the beginning of the novel and becomes seriously deformed as a result, hence the title. The novel is gripping and compelling, but also a great one to read for the season!
8.
Grave Sight is another of Charlaine Harris' wonderful novels. I say this every time, but those who have already been reading my blog for some time will know that Charlaine Harris is my favourite author, and that I recommend each and every novel of hers. Grave sight would make a great Halloween read - Harper Connelly can find bodies and sense their final moments - a haunting, paranormal crime novel.
9.
Guilty Pleasures isn't quite your normal paranormal romance novel, although it is technically classed as one. You have vampires and zombies, and evil in numerous different forms - perfect for Halloween I'm sure you'll agree!
10.
After Dark is the second Haruki Murakami novel I've read, and although it is a slightly strange one, it was a really interesting one too! An atmospheric and gripping novel.

Good choices there Dani. I agree about The Rapture, I found that was well freaky! Definetly the stuff to give you nightmares. I've got a few of these on my tbr pile which I do need to get round to quite soon. Charlaine Harris is always a winner with me, I don't think I have ever read a bad book by her.

Jen, I KNOW I've never read a bad book by Charlaine Harris - never a disappointment!

ooooh The Rapture sounds pretty cool! Thanks for sharing! :)
Toni, the Rapture is fantastic, but the ending scared me as I've said in my post. Much more scary than any horror or thriller novel!
Another Charlaine fan here as you know! I have just finished Dark Matter and was very disappointed :( x
