Goodreads synopsis:
Freak. That's what her
classmates call seventeen-year-old Donna Underwood. When she was seven, a
horrific fey attack killed her father and drove her mother mad. Donna's
own nearly fatal injuries from the assault were fixed by magic—the iron
tattoos branding her hands and arms. The child of alchemists, Donna
feels cursed by the magical heritage that destroyed her parents and any
chance she had for a normal life. The only thing that keeps her sane and
grounded is her relationship with her best friend, Navin Sharma.
When the darkest outcasts of Faerie—the vicious wood elves—abduct Navin, Donna finally has to accept her role in the centuries old war between the humans and the fey. Assisted by Xan, a gorgeous half-fey dropout with secrets of his own, Donna races to save her friend—even if it means betraying everything her parents and the alchemist community fought to the death to protect.

I bought this one over a year ago now, I think. It may have been slightly less time than that, but it has been near enough that long. It sounds like such an amazing read, and my reasons for having not read it yet are, I admit, a little daft. Basically, I work in a bookshop (for those who don't know), called Waterstones, in the UK. When this book first came out, we had a load of limited edition copies in, that have gold-edged pages. It's a really beautiful book, and I haven't read it yet, simply because I don't want to spoil it!
Silly, I know. I may have to ignore this and read it soon though. Having just read the synopsis again, I feel the need to pick it up!

That's what happened to me when I bought the limited edition to HP's book 7 - it came in a gorgeous box and looked to pretty to touch, but I finally caved in and have enjoyed it many times!
I hope you decided to read it soon :)
Good luck, margie
That is awesome that your pages are golden. I have this book in my TBR pile too but it isn't the limited edition. Hope you do get to it eventually!
