Wishlist Wednesday #19

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

So what do you need to do to join in?
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
  • Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of this post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://vogue-pentopaper.blogspot.com) somewhere in your post.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep

Goodreads synosis:
My name is Gin, and I kill people.

They call me the Spider. I'm the most feared assassin in the South — when I'm not busy at the Pork Pit cooking up the best barbecue in Ashland. As a Stone elemental, I can hear everything from the whispers of the gravel beneath my feet to the vibrations of the soaring Appalachian Mountains above me. My Ice magic also comes in handy for making the occasional knife. But I don't use my powers on the job unless I absolutely have to. Call it professional pride.

Now that a ruthless Air elemental has double-crossed me and killed my handler, I'm out for revenge. And I'll exterminate anyone who gets in my way — good or bad. I may look hot, but I'm still one of the bad guys. Which is why I'm in trouble, since irresistibly rugged Detective Donovan Caine has agreed to help me. The last thing this coldhearted killer needs when I'm battling a magic more powerful than my own is a sexy distraction...especially when Donovan wants me dead just as much as the enemy.

I actually only came across this one yesterday. I was browsing a fellow blogger's site that I'd just come across, and the top post was a review of the fifth in this series. After reading the review, I decided it looked great, and promptly added the first in the series to my wishlist. It's only available for eReader in the UK unless ordered from the Book Dep, but as I already have a fairly large pile at the moment, I'm going to hold off getting it for a while. When I've knocked a few off the to-read mountain, then I will probably download it for my Kindle.
I think it sounds like a really interesting series, although a little like Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series, the first of which (Ill Wind) I read during the summer and really loved.
Hopefully it will be different enough from that though!

What's on your wishlist this week? Take part in the meme and let us all know!

I've not heard of this one Dani. The female lead sounds like a kick a** type of person, strong female leads are good :D

I hope you manage to get through your book mountain, good luck with that lol.

I've been wondering about this series and whether it's actually good. I hope it is.
