Top Ten Tuesday #1

From next week onwards, I have decided that 'Teaser Tuesday' will be replaced with 'Top Ten Tuesday', a meme hosted by Broke and Bookish. This will allow me to share even more books with my wonderful readers! What more could you ask for? For this week, I have decided to post both for the final time.
So what is 'Top Ten Tuesday'?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Broke and Bookish. It was created because of a particular fondness towards lists. Each week, a new top ten question will be posted on the hosting blog for other blogs to join in with on their own blogs. All you need to do to join in is link back to the host somewhere on your post, and add your link to the linky list via the host.

This week's top ten list is:
Top Ten Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time

1
Charlaine Harris is my favourite author of all time, and this was the first of her books I read. I'd love to be able to read the story again for the first time and re-experience the excitement I felt while reading, wondering what was going to happen!
I know the story inside-out now though, so the surprise no longer exists. Not that I wouldn't still re-read it over and over again!

2
The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver was a surprise for me. I read it for my book club while I was in my gap year between finishing school and starting University, and I honestly thought I would hate it. It turned out to be one of my favourite novels though, which was a wonderful surprise. I'd love to be able to experience it again for the first time - it's such a beautiful and poignant novel.

3
The Book of Fires is another one that I absolutely loved! I read it probably around two years ago now, but it has stuck with me ever since. Unfortunately when I finished reading it, I passed it on to a friend and no longer have a copy. I am determined to get myself another copy and re-read it as some stage though. It won't be the same as reading it for the first time, but it will still be fantastic! Click here for my review.

4
Jasper Fforde was one of the first adult authors I ever read, and this is the first in his newest adult series - and it is definitely my favourite of his that I've read so far. I'd love to be able to experience the magic of it again for the first time!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an announcement of the second in the series soon - this was published all the way back at the beginning of 2009, so it has been a long wait already!

5

Never Let Me Go is another of my all time favourites. I know the story so well now that I could probably recite bits of it to you if you wanted me to. To read it again for the very first time would be a pleasure!
I implore those of you that haven't read this for the first time yet, to get hold of a copy and read it. You can enter to win a copy in my 200 follower giveaway!

6
Water for Elephants is an absolutely beautiful novel! I read it earlier this year between revising for my English Language exam and it was the perfect read for taking the stress of my exams!
It has struck a cord with me so strongly that I still think about the story on an almost daily basis! Click here for my review.

7
Another Charlaine Harris novel, I know! I have said already that she's my favourite author though! This one is the third instalment of the Harper Connelly series, and is in my opinion, the best so far (I am yet to complete the series - it will be a sad day when I no longer have any more Charlaine to read!).
I'd love to be able to re-experience the surprise and joy that we find in this novel! Absolutely gorgeous!

8
The Lovely Bones is yet another of my all-time favourites. I've never known a book to reduce me to tears so many times! These tears aren't because it's tragic, as you might expect from reading the synopsos, but tears because of the beauty of the novel. Such a compelling read!

9
I read Delirium while on holiday this summer and it was absolutely fantastic! The perfect choice for one of my holiday reads. It hasn't been so long since I read it, so I do still remember the story, and would have to wait a while to read it again. Nothing will compare to my first reading though.

10

The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson is an absolute joy. This is another of those books that I read through a recommendation but didn't think I would enjoy. I absolutely adored it! It's such a unique, beautiful, gripping and compelling novel - I couldn't get enough of it.
To read it again for the first time without knowing what to expect would be fantastic!
