Wishlist Wednesday #169

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

So what do you need to do to join in?
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
  • Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of this post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://www.pentopaperblog.com) somewhere in your post, and a note saying that Pen to Paper is the host of the meme.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

Seed
by Lisa Heathfield

Synopsis:
Seed loves you. Seed will never let you go.

Fifteen-year-old Pearl has lived her whole life protected within the small community at Seed, where they worship Nature and idolise their leader, Papa S. When some outsiders arrive, everything changes. Pearl experiences feelings that she never knew existed and begins to realise that there is darkness at the heart of Seed. A darkness from which she must escape, before it's too late.
I stumbled on this last week when I was browsing through my Goodreads feed. Someone had added it to their wishlist, and after reading the synopsis, I had to follow suit!
I have recently gone off dystopian fiction a little ... mostly because if it's not actually post-apocalyptic, it feels like it's almost there, and I've been wanting to read something a little more cheerful of late. However, I did read and love the entire Giver Quartet at the end of last year, and that had a very nice feeling to it – this reminds me of it, in the way that I imagine it might feel.
Fingers crossed it's as good as I think it's going to be. It's released in April by Electric Monkey in the UK, so I will definitely be looking out for it then!

What's on your wishlist this week? Let us know in the comments below, or link to your own Wishlist Wednesday post in the Linky :)
