Wishlist Wednesday #66

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

So what do you need to do to join in?
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
  • Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of this post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://www.pentopaperblog.com) somewhere in your post, and a note saying that Pen to Paper is the host of the meme.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

Oh Dear Silvia
by Dawn French

Goodreads synopsis:
Who is in Coma Suite Number 5?

A matchless lover? A supreme egotist? A selfless martyr? A bad mother? A cherished sister? A selfish wife?

All of these. For this is Silvia Shute who has always done exactly what she wants. Until now, when her life suddenly, shockingly stops.

Her past holds a dark and terrible secret, and now that she is unconscious in a hospital bed, her constant stream of visitors are set to uncover the mystery of her broken life. And she must lie there, victim of the beloveds, the borings, the babblings and the plain bonkers.

Like it or not, the truth is about to pay Silvia a visit. Again, and again and again...

I've always really admired Dawn French - she's an incredibly talented and funny woman. So when she started writing and publishing fiction, I was immediately interested. Her first novel, A Tiny Bit Marvellous, is one that I still have to read, though. I picked it up in hardback last year, and I read a couple of chapters - which were great - but ended up reading other books for the blog instead.
I first found out about this two or so months ago, and it sounds great - even better than her previous novel. So despite having not yet read A Tiny Bit Marvellous, I have added it to my Christmas list.
The premise of the book, and the synopsis show a lot of potential, so I'm really hoping that the actual book will fulfill this.

What's on your wishlist this week? Let us know in the comments below, or link to your own Wishlist Wednesday post in the Linky :)

I have discovered a new author. I have not read anything by Dawn French, and it sounds like she is a favorite of yours. I will have to look out for this one and others by her.
Thanks for hosting.

Huh. I don't normally do "grown-up" lit, but that sounds... pretty good, actually.
