Wishlist Wednesday #64

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

So what do you need to do to join in?
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
  • Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of this post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://www.pentopaperblog.com) somewhere in your post, and a note saying that Pen to Paper is the host of the meme.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

Wonder
by R. J. Palacio

Goodreads synopsis:
I won't describe what I look like. Whatever you're thinking, it's probably worse. August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school—until now. He's about to start 5th grade at Beecher Prep, and if you've ever been the new kid then you know how hard that can be. The thing is Auggie's just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he's just like them, despite appearances? R. J. Palacio has written a spare, warm, uplifting story that will have readers laughing one minute and wiping away tears the next. With wonderfully realistic family interactions (flawed, but loving), lively school scenes, and short chapters, Wonder is accessible to readers of all levels.

I've been unsure about this one for a while now. So many people have told me that it's a really good read, but I'm still not decided about it. It sounds like it might be a really sweet and moving story, but there's still something that's been keeping me away from it.
So, I thought I'd put it up on Wishlist Wednesday, and ask you guys, if you've read it, what you think of it, and whether or not you'd recommend it. :)

What's on your wishlist this week? Let us know in the comments below, or link to your own Wishlist Wednesday post in the Linky :)

I know what you mean about this one- When it came out it never really appealed to me, but I keep hearing such positive praise about this book- it makes me curious!

Wonder! I came across this book at the bookstore when my friend was browsing the book. She's so absorbed in the first few pages so it must be really good! Hope you'll get to read it soon. :)

I think I would share your feeling. I am reading the synopsis and am not really attracted but if other people say it is good you become more and more curious.

Maybe give it a try if you can borrow it somewhere?

I've never heard of this book. But I think your right, it sounds interesting but there is something that's stopping me from looking out for it. I think I might try ordering it from my library and read it that way :)

The reviews for this one keep dragging me back to it. I will definitely read it eventually. I think my library is doing a book club with it, so maybe then? We shall see. :)

This book is on my library wishlist. It sounds pretty good but I agree that there is something about it that is making me not extremely excited about it. It might be because he is in 5th grade.

I've been unsure about this one as well... Part of me is fascinated, the other part is like, "Meh..." I'll have to read some reviews on it. Thanks for sharing!

I keep seeing this book in bookshops and I've been meaning to read it for ages but I haven't managed to pick it up yet. It does sound interesting, though and I think I'd enjoy it. :)

I think I like the cover more than I like the synopsis, might be worth a read though.
