Wishlist Wednesday #62

Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.

So what do you need to do to join in?
  • Follow Pen to Paper as host of the meme.
  • Please consider adding the blog hop button to your blog somewhere, so others can find it easily and join in too! Help spread the word! The code will be at the bottom of the post under the linky.
  • Pick a book from your wishlist that you are dying to get to put on your shelves.
  • Do a post telling your readers about the book and why it's on your wishlist.
  • Add your blog to the linky at the bottom of this post.
  • Put a link back to pen to paper (http://www.pentopaperblog.com) somewhere in your post, and a note saying that Pen to Paper is the host of the meme.
  • Visit the other blogs and enjoy!

Override (Glitch #2)
by Heather Anastasiu

Goodreads synopsis:

**WARNING**
This synopsis contains spoilers for the first book in the series. If you have not read it yet, and plan to, do not read this.

Zoe never wanted to be a leader. She just wanted to be free. After escaping the Community and getting her friends away from Chancellor Bright’s control, she thinks everything will get better. She and Adrien can finally be together. She’s safe at the Foundation and is training with a team of other glichers to become a freedom fighter in the Resistance.

But while Zoe is free, she’s far from safe. Adrien is tortured by visions of the future that he refuses to share with her. And there’s something’s wrong with Zoe’s telekinesis. The control she gained when she escaped the Community seems completely gone, and her power is expanding in unexpected and terrifying ways. Everyone is counting on her to be the key to defeating the Chancellor, but Zoe is terrified she’s too weak to save anyone.

As the Chancellor begins enacting her plan to move up the ranks of the government and gain an ever-widening noose of control, the future of Resistance grows more and more precarious every day. Others around Zoe are becoming desperate in their attempts to survive, until finally distrust and betrayal leads to the terrible discovery that their greatest threat could already be lurking behind the safe walls of the Foundation itself. In the end, Zoe will have to make a choice: will she stand up as the leader Adrien foretold her to be, or will she fail everyone in the moment they need her most?

I literally just finished reading Glitch, the first book in this series, and I really liked it. I thought that the beginning was a little bit shaky, and I was convinced that I wasn't going to end up liking it, but by the end of the book I was really interested in the story, and I definitely want to see where Heather is going to take the story next! So this week's Wishlist Wednesday pick was a really easy one for me! Fingers crossed this next instalment will be just as interesting as the end of book one was, and that she brings something truly original to the dystopian genre with it.

What's on your wishlist this week? Let us know in the comments below, or link to your own Wishlist Wednesday post in the Linky :)

The cover looks very interesting. She's in the act of scrolling something on her wrist. I wonder what that would be. I'll have to check out "Glitch" soon. :D
