Showcase Sunday #1 [Mailbox]

Showcase Sunday is a new weekly meme hosted by the wonderful Vicky at Books, Biscuits & Tea, where we will show off the books and eBooks we received each week.

I explain this a little in the video as well, but basically, after all of the drama with Krisi at The Story Siren over the past week, I know loads of people are really upset over what has happened. Vicky decided that she was going to create her own Sunday post to replace Kristi's In My Mailbox, and because Vicky is a friend, I have decided that I would much rather support her.
So from now on, Showcase Sunday is what you'll be seeing from me :)

Fifty Shades Darker & Fifty Shades Freed by E L James
Supernaturally by Kiersten White
The Declaration by Gemma Malley
The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
Pretties & Specials by Scott Westerfield
Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday
The Alchemy of Forever by Avery Williams
Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs
The Shadow Reader by Sandy Williams

I also got some eBooks!

Wow some really good books there Dani! I've got the Gemma Malley one sat on the bookcase there somewhere. Shock horror, I didn't have enough books to do a video this week lol.

Yay for reaching over 2000 followers!!

Yeah, it's quite a chunky one, Vicky. I think I'm on around page 220 and I'm just about half way through, I think! It's quite a big one! Just under 500 pages.
So far so good though, I'm really enjoying it!

It's because I've not been able to read as much as I'd like to during the uni term, so I'm planning what I want to read when I don't have to do anything else, without really thinking about it to be honest :P
I'm excited! ;D

Jen - I know! I was amazed that there wasn't a video or too many books!! WELL DONE! Wish I could do that ;P

Love you both :) xx

I have know read up on things and I love Vicky's blog and have enjoyed some of her other meme's and challenges and I think I'll be supporting her from now on :) I love showing off my books to others so will now be doing it with Showcase Sunday's :)

I have the same problem with paperbacks. Oh my, after I finish reading they look like I chewed them all up. -.- I drag the book all around me, stuck it in my school bag, drop it under pillow... it's no wonder they end up like mini catastrophes. Overall - great haul!
I hope you enjoy them a looot. ^^

I was wondering what the new Sunday memes were about--I've never participated in the other one, but makes sense that people are providing some new options. The Remains of the Day is one of the best books that I've ever read; it's just perfectly written. Hope you enjoy, it too!

I can't believe I go AWOL for a week and I miss all this drama. I had NO idea all of that went down. Wow I'll be switching to Showcase Sunday starting next week most definitely.

Ahaha it's good to know I'm not the only one that picks up books at the supermarket. I can't help that they put them RIGHT by the cash and as I'm waiting in line I'm staring at all the shiny books. And the fact that you pick up the second or third in a series when you haven't read the first; i do that too.

I want to read Sweet Venom so badly! I just can't seem to track down a copy and TBD has been giving me issues lately. But I'm excited to read your review of it!

Venom looks like an amazing read. Hadn't heard of this MeMe until today when I saw it on a blog participating in Random Reads. Anyway very interesting Showcase Sunday and I think it's a great idea to offer another outlet for sharing new books. I'll probably sign on next week. Last Sunday I did IMM because at first I had no idea what happened because I don't do the social scene so much and when I found out I didn't see the point in removing my post because I liked what the MeMe offered so it was kind of an internal struggle for me because I didn't agree with what she'd done but I liked the feature. If you're still doing this next weekend I think I'll join up because it offers the topic of interest without presenting a moral dilemma. I haven't read any of the ones in your showcase but all of them look like fantastic reads.
