In my Mailbox #23

So, we're back to Sunday again (where has this week gone?!), and that means it's time for another In my Mailbox.
I'd like to say that I've behaved this week and that it's going to be one of the shortest posts, but that would be a lie :P
So here's what I got ...

Physical books: Bought

Dear Peter: Miniature Letters by Beatrix Potter AND The World of Peter Rabbit and Beatrix Potter: I bought these from work yesterday. I found them completely by chance, when I was tidying up a little, and I thought that they might come in handy for my biography extract that I need to write for University. Also - they are incredibly cute!

Physical books: To Review

Gold by Chris Cleave: This is the first review book that I got from work this week, and I'm quite looking forward to it. I read The Other Hand (AKA Little Bee) by him a couple of years ago, and really enjoyed it, so I think I'm going to like this one as well. It comes out in June, ready for the London Olympics, so that's something else to look forward to!

The Last Man Standing by Davide Longo: This is the second one I got from work to review, this week. It comes out in July, so there's still a fair wait until it's released, but it will be released straight into paperback in the UK, which can only be a good thing, I think! It sounds like a really different read for me. I'm looking forward to reviewing it!

Physical books: Won

Hana by Lauren Oliver: I won this one from a competition with the publisher (Hodder). This is only for sale as an eBook, but Hodder were running a competition, where the prize was an exclusively printed copy of the short story, and I was one of the lucky five that won! I will sit and devour this one later in the week, I think. I'm very excited to own it!

The Dark & Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan: I won this one from Donna & Jess at Book Passion for Life, and I can't wait to get stuck back into this series! I read the first one last year (I think), and I really enjoyed it, which surprised me, as I'm not usually a huge fan of Zombies. Hopefully I'll be reading book two sometime next month, and then this one soon after. Definitely looking forward to it.

eBooks
Hippocampus by Tom Tancin: I won this one for one of my Review Copy Cleanup posts from Vicky at Books, Biscuits & Tea. It looks like something that's a little different from what I usually read, so hopefully it'll be a good one!

So, that's it for this week. What did you get through your mailbox? Let us know in the comments below :)

I agree, the Beatrix Potter books look adorable! And if it hadn't been for books like "The Forest of Hands and Teeth" I probably wouldn't have gotten into zombies either - the sequels are definitely on my own wishlist too.

The Peter Rabbit books are so pretty. I still have the Forest of Hands and Teeth out from the library, unread. The Last Man Standing sounds interesting, wouldn't be unhappy if it drops through my letterbox later this year *sends mindwaves to Quercus* They keep sending me stuff, but I'm so behind I don't feel like asking for new books!

@Anna: Hana isn't actually out as a physical book - it's usually just an eBook, but I won one of five exclusively printed copies. These are the only ones in existence :)
