Birthday Bookcase!

So, as some of you may know, it was my 21st birthday on Wednesday, and my parents bought me a second bookcase for my bedroom. We put it up on Tuesday, during the day, but we decided to secure the back of the bookcase better and fix it to the wall, so this took until Thursday night to finish, and then I wasn't at home.
I spent a lot of last night deciding which books should go on there - but after 3 hours, I still hadn't finished. So I spent some of my time off from work today, filling the rest of it up. I have left some little gaps for a couple of books that I've won and another book that should be coming from a publishers on Monday (which I'm very excited about!). So, I thought, for those of you who are like me, and love being nosy at other people's book collections, I'd post some photos. I took before and after photos of the bookcase itself:

I also took photos of each shelf, so that you could be extra nosy. I put mostly YA or fantasy novels in this bookcase, as I do have a rather large collection of these. I still have another bookcase full though, which still has more fantasy in it (including an entire shelf of Charlaine Harris novels). Anyway, here is each shelf:

The first five on the left are books that I got for Christmas (although, not all of the books I got), and most of the others are books I've acquired in the last 3 weeks or so. I apologise that these photos are not the clearest, by the way.

The second from the left that you can't quite see, is The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, which I won and read before Christmas. You can read my review here.

I really haven't read many from this bookcase yet - the only one I've read on this shelf is Soulless - read my review here, and my interview with Gail Carriger here.

Most of my review books from publishers (and work) are on this shelf (although, the Jenny Downham book on the top shelf was from work to review). The first two on the left (Pigeon English and The Snow Child, are from work, then Changeling Moon is from the author. The following six are from publishers, and then we go back to the rest of my book collection (although there will be one more from a publisher there next week sometime). The red book is The Etymologicon (it's about the origins of words and how they are connected), which my parents bought me as an extra present. Those three beautiful books on the right are Barnes & Noble leather-bound classics (L-R) Huckleberry Finn, The Picture of Dorian Gray and Jane Eyre.

The gap at the end there is for the books I've won over the past week, so I can put them on there when they arrive :)

I decided that because quite a few people seem to be interested, I will add a whole load of links to the Book Depository pages for each of the books, so you can see what they are, and if you feel so inclined, do a sneaky click'n'buy ;)

Happy belated birthday :)
That looks really, really awesome. I'd love to reorganise my books, too, but I've got one room at my parents' house and my own apartment, so this always is kind of impossible as I'm carrying my books from one place to the other. Years at university aren't easy;D

Thank you for all the extra birthday wishes! :)

I love getting new homes for my books, and I love going through them and rearranging them even more. You might be able to tell that they don't really have specific places - authors stay together, but otherwise, they go where they look prettiest!

I think this is the second best thing my parents have ever bought me for my birthday - the best thing was last year when they got me my beloved Kindle! :)

This is my last large present - my 21st - so I will savour it even more! <3
