Top Ten Tuesday #10

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. It was created because of a particular fondness towards lists. Each week, a new top ten question will be posted on the hosting blog for other blogs to join in with on their own blogs. All you need to do to join in is link back to the host somewhere on your post, and add your link to the linky list via the host.

I had to change this week's post a little because we obviously don't have Thanksgiving here in the UK, so this week's post is:

Top Ten Books I hope Santa brings

1.
The Night Circus is one I've wanted for so long - I wanted it before it even came out - but I was told I wasn't allowed to buy it by my boyfriend. I guess this means that I'm getting it for Christmas, which is good, but I've been dying to read it for MONTHS. (For those that are bothered, I've since found out that it's also being made into a film for release in 2013!)

2.
Imaginary Girls is one I know my boyfriend is getting me for Christmas. He wanted ideas for Christmas, so I sent him the link to the Book Depository page as a hint...
It looks really interesting. Hopefully I'll be getting the hardback edition - it's the one with this stunning cover!

3.
After a while of trying to guess what I wanted, my parents finally asked me for a list of things I wanted for Christmas, so naturally they are all books. I wrote them a little list of books and this one was definitely at the top. I'm really looking forward to reading this - I think it's the one I've decided to read on Christmas day, so look out for a review of this very soon.

4.
Texas Gothic is one that's had me intrigued for a little while, but because of the amount of books I already had to read, I held off. Christmas (and possibly my birthday) are the only times I'm really allowed to let myself get any more (supposedly ... it doesn't always work like this). So of course this one went on the list as well.

5.
Avenger's Angel is one I'm hopefully getting too, but I know that one of the books on my list is not going to arrive until after Christmas - which saddens me - and I hope it's not this one. I definitely want this cover - it's so much more attractive than the other covers for this novel.

6 & 7.
I already have the Barnes & Noble Leatherbound edition of The Picture of Dorian Gray, but the editions are so beautiful that I'm really hoping to get some more. These were not ones that were on my list, but ones I hope someone has picked up on. I read a bit of Huck Finn for University earlier in the semester, and Jane Eyre is the book I've chosen to be my challenge read for 2012 - so why not read a really beautiful copy?

8.
The Pledge is one I'm hopefully getting - I can't remember past those above, which other ones I put on my list, which I suppose will make it a nice surprise :P
But I do know that The Pledge is one I really want to read and haven't been able to get hold of yet.

9.
Again, I can't remember if it's one I've asked for or not, but I do want to read Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead. I've read a couple of books about Incubus and Succubus recently, so I'd really really intrigued to read yet another take on the creatures. I think I even did a Wishlist Wednesday post about this one.

10.
Black Swan Rising is one I don't think I put on my list, and if someone hasn't picked up on it as a present idea, I shall buy it for myself for Christmas ;) Easy peasy.

Hope you get lots of these lovely books from Santa! I have got The Night Circus now but am trying to be good and get through review books first. It's hard as it's calling to me....! x

I'm going to find it difficult to ignore The Night Circus too, Lindsay! I also have a pile of review books waiting, but I'm getting through them. I'm going to have to read this one as a break from them though! xxx

Texas Gothic,I must look into that one. Shatter Me is quite a popular pick. Happy Holidays.

I understand that Jane Eyre can be a challenge to a reader but believe me, it can be deep and provocative mid-way. I had fun reading my paperback copy of Jane Eyre--thrice. :-)

I hope you'll have that beautiful copy of Jane Eyre soon.
